When the townspeople were having a meeting and a comitee of people were to wait on Governor Hutchinson for his approval to revolt. He was to answer by 5 o'clock that evening and when the comitee went to the Governor's House he was gone to his county seat at Milton. And the townfolk were to complete the mission. They had to prepare for the revolt against the British. So on December 16th, 1773, a group of about 200 men that called themselves "Sons of Liberty" which was lead by Samuel Adams. These men dressed up as Mohawk Indians, which were friends of the British, and boarded the ships. The men dumpt 45 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor!!! In March 1774, the Boston Parliament passed the Intoleable Act which the Boston Parliament closed the Port of Boston. |
